Both systems are oftentimes mistakenly considered as similar systems but they are completely different.
The emergency stop push button system removes the power from the machine and this makes the machine stop while the cycle stop system is a command function that brings the machine to a graceful stop before an operating cycle is completed.
In a cycle stop system, the machine is usually on an automatic mode where it can restart its operating cycle once again after the stop.
