L12 Series
The L12 Series is part of Langir’s extensive line of illuminated anti-vandal switches. Since it has a higher level of protection than ordinary switches, this series is suitable for use in harsh environments. It is important that this type of switch be placed in the right working environment that meets its specifications.
The L12 Series Illuminated is extensively certified, offering an electrical rating of 2A/36VDC, with a bushing diameter of 12 mm, panel cutout, and can function either momentarily or in a latching way.
This series can be made from stainless steel or nickel-plated brass with an IP degree of IP65. With this specification, the L12 Series allows you to enjoy an anti-vandal switch that is dust-tight which means it has complete protection against contact and total dust ingress. Those who are looking for a waterproof anti-vandal switch will also love this series as it is protected from low-pressure water jets from any direction.
This series can also be customized with ring illumination, dot, or none at all, with multiple options of color to choose from including white, red, orange, green, blue, and yellow. You also have the option to choose the illumination voltage including its base voltage or increase it to 3.3 V, 6V, 12V, or 24V.
The L12 Series allows you to work effectively with high current ratings with its solder lug type measuring about 2.0 by 0.5 millimeters. Using this anti-vandal switch makes a better connection which also means better dissipation. Although it’s not best for large production runs, it makes the best solution for high current ratings that is also quick and easy to install.
The L12 Series provides you multiple actuator options including flat and high, and a pilot indicator option. However, a pressure of about 4N will be needed to press down the actuator.
Made from high-tech materials, along with precise measurement and control technology, the L12 Series has a mechanical life of 200,000 cycles and an electrical life of 50,000 cycles and works in an operating or storage environment with a temperature of -20 °C to 55 °C.
In identifying the possibility of fretting corrosion of contacts, and diagnosing and preventing contact corrosion as early as possible, it is best to know that the L12 Series has a contact resistance of 50 mΩ Max. It is important to understand this measurement in order to ensure that the contactor make/break contacts are in good working condition.
Additionally, other helpful information about the L12 Series is its insulation resistance and dielectric strength. Although these two are similar, it is best to note that the L12 Series’ insulation resistance is measured in ohms while the dielectric test is measured in milliamps. With that, it will be helpful to know the insulation resistance of this series which is 1000 mΩ Minimum, and its dielectric strength of 2,000VAC, which can be helpful in checking for damaged insulation in the future.
All these features make the L12 Series a popular option for use in vending kiosks, public ticket dispensers, pedestrian crosswalk signals, and more, especially in settings where heavy use is expected.
