Ultra Short L19U Series
The L19U Series is part of Langir’s extensive line of ultra-short anti-vandal switches. Compared to ordinary switches, this series makes a great choice if you have very limited space, or need something that would fit a small area. Its size does not in any way affect its performance, as just like Langir’s other series of anti-vandal switches, the L19U Series guarantees maximum performance when placed in harsh environments.
The L19U Series has gone through various testings and certifications, including ROHS, CE, IP testing, and more.
To begin with its specifications, it offers an electrical rating of 50mA/24VDC. It has a precise measurement of 19 mm, with options to go about 22 mm for the L22U Series, or 25 mm for the L25U Series, panel cutout. The L19U Series can perform multiple or different functions depending on your need including momentary and 1NO.
When it comes to its durability and quality, one can tell with its IP degree of IP67 and an IK rating of IK09, with its body made of stainless steel material.
With an IP degree of this level, the L19U Series allows you to enjoy an anti-vandal switch that has maximum protection against contact, dust ingress, and moisture. Solids and other foreign materials will not cause any harm to this switch. Its level of waterproof protection is almost at its maximum since hazardous volumes of water cannot enter the switch’s enclosure while it is immersed in water under specific pressure and time conditions. To quantify, that is between 15 cm and 1 m in depth.
On the other hand, the IK rating which tells the resistance of an anti-vandal switch, in this case, against impacts and other external effects, guarantees protection against 10 joules of external mechanical impact. If converted, this is roughly equivalent to an impact that a 5-kilogram mass will make to this switch if it is dropped from a free fall height of 200 mm.
This series also provides illumination customization options with ring illumination or none at all, and with a variety of LEDs to choose from including white, red, orange, green, blue, and yellow. You also have the option to upgrade its illumination voltage from its base voltage at 1V or increase it to 3.3 V, 6V, 12V, or 24V.
The L19U Series comes with a solder lug terminal type. Using this anti-vandal switch makes a better connection which also means better dissipation. Although it’s not best for large production runs, it makes the best solution for high current ratings that is also quick and easy to install.
Being ultra short, the L19U Series only comes with a flat actuator option, but you are provided with graphic options, either you want it laser-etched or with no illumination. An actuation force of 4N, however, is needed to fully operate the switch.
When it comes to the L19U Series lifetimes, it can last up to 1,000,000 cycles when in use, but only up to 50,000 cycles when loaded with current.
It is recommended to keep the L19U Series in an environment where the temperature is between -20 °C and 55 °C.
If you’re looking to use an anti-vandal switch that will fit your very limited space, then the L19U Series is right for you. It is a popular option for outdoor and public use like kiosks, ticket dispensers, and more, especially in settings where heavy use and moisture are expected.
